What's Happening!
FLASH...If we get 5 more Pointers to sign-up and buy baseball game tickets from our cruise captian we all receive a $1 discount on each ticket purchased and the club will be publicly recognized at the game. Here are the details on the event:

Yacht Cruisers and Land Cruisers, OPCYC is going to the Norfolk Tides game on July 26th and it is time to sign up for the event. The Norfolk Tides will be playing the Columbus Clippers at Harbor Park in Norfolk for a 7:15 game. We have 40 box seats reserved along the first base line and if you have been to this event in previous years you know they are great seats so hurry up to get your tickets while they last. The cost is $10 per ticket.

Here’s our game plan – You can arrive by land or water!

Yacht Cruisers: Ocean Marine Yacht Center is holding eight (8) to ten (10) slips for us. Ocean Marine is in the heart of Downtown Portsmouth, within easy walking access to restaurants, shops, churches, the Commodore Theater, the Lightship Museum and also the Children’s Museum. Ocean Marine is a full service marina with power and cable hookups on floating docks, a ship’s store, and top-notch shower and restroom facilities. Yacht Cruisers are asked to make their own reservations directly with Ocean Marine by calling 757-399-2920 or 1-800-292-9858 and let them know you are with OPCYC. The marina will want to know your vessel size, power requirements, when you expect to arrive and how long you will be staying.

Land Cruisers: Those coming by land can go straight to Harbor Park or meet the Yacht Cruisers at Ocean Marine for ‘docktails’. If you plan to drive to Portsmouth to meet the other OPCYC members at Ocean Marine and take the ballgame ferry over to Harbor Park Portsmouth has a number of parking garages in the area.

Tickets: OPCYC has already reserved 40 box seat tickets in order to get the ‘group’ rate. Tickets are $10 each and must be paid for in advance. Game tickets will be distributed on Saturday afternoon at Ocean Marine to those who are there. NOTE: If you plan on meeting at Ocean Marine, be sure you are there by 5:30 to get your tickets from Ken Reynolds. After that tickets will be given out in front of the ballpark. If you plan to drive directly to Harbor Park, we will have your tickets outside the entrance on the first base side of the park (on the side by the ferry dock) between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. Parking fee at the ball park is $4.

Food: The cruise would not be complete without some kind of food and beverage. We are planning on having ‘docktails’ at Ocean Marine at about 4:00 in the afternoon. That will give us plenty of time to walk to the North Ferry landing and catch the ballgame ferry at 6:15 or 6:45 ($1 per person or 50 cents for seniors) directly to the ball park. If you want to partake of the ‘docktails’, bring your beverage of choice and a hors d’oeuvres to share. Since there are numerous tasty options to eat at the ballpark you will be on your own for buying dinner and beverages.

Your Action Required: Please sign up on the website http://opcyc.org/modules/signup/index.php?event=26 NOW (indicate in the ‘Number in party’ block on the sign-up page how many tickets you want), then make reservations at Ocean Marine if needed. If for some reason you cannot get to the website then pick up the phone and call Ken Reynolds at 757-867-7820 to secure your tickets for this great family outing
