The Old Point Comfort Yacht Club

..... is located at Fort Monroe, in Hampton, VA.  We are an organization devoted to having fun on the water with friends.  We race sailboats, cruise and party.  What's not to like?  There aren't any stuffed shirts in our club;  any of our members will help you out if you need a hand dropping a mast or installing a fitting.

Although most of our members are active or retired military, you don't have to be military to join. The cost membership in OPCYC is a whopping $30/year ($45 your first year includes an OPCYC Burgee), because all our work is done by volunteers.



We are a very active on-the-water yacht club, and we also enjoy each others company at parties throughout the eyar. In addition to "docktails" held at our cruising destination, we also enjoy partying in our continually improving clubhouse on the beach at the Old Point Comfort Marina, in building #183, across the parking lot from the Ft. Monroe Marina. Once a month, we ahve dinner at a nice area rrestraunt where members enjoy discussing interests and are sometimes recognized for boating achievements. After each race we gather at theclubhouse for liquid refreshments and a chance to discuss the events on the course. For major races, we host special post-race parties at our clubhouse. Other special parties include the New Years Madness Race and celebration, the annual Blessing of the Fleet, the Derby Day party with traditional mint juleps, the annual Summer steak cookout, and our one dress event of the year, the Commodore's Ball.
