April Monthly Meeting: There will be a potluck supper Saturday night, April 19, 2008. Drinks and appetizers start at 6:30 PM at the Activity Room at Crown Pointe Marina. Members should bring a dish to feed at least 8 people. Assignments are as follows for last name beginning with: A-C: appetizer D-H: main dish I-R: salad or veggie side dish S-Z: dessert Ice& beverages will be furnished by the Club. There is NO charge for the dinner or beverages since everyone is asked to bring food to contribute to the potluck! After dinner, there will be an informal business meeting to discuss the York River Cup. May Monthly Meeting: Saturday, May 17 we will be having a marvelous Enchantment Under the Sea Dance. John Hanna (left), President, Watermen's Museum Board of Directors accepts acheck for $1,457 from Commodore Jack Barnett (right) of the York River YachtClub. Proceeds from the YRYC's 2007 York River Cup race, cookout and raffleon June 17 all benefitted the Watermen's Museum.

Six YRYC and SYC boats raced in the Admiral's Cup on Saturday, 11 August. There was serious wind, big waves, and a lot of breakage. MAGPIE blew out her heavy spinnaker at the start of the race, MOVIN'ON caught their chute on a turning mark and destroyed it, and GAIL FORCE had a rudder failure and was forced to retire.
